GOOD QUESTIONS.
MINO is a free desktop edge deck for screen-edge notes: a place to pin the talking points, references and working notes you want within reach. Hover a tab to peek; click to edit. It is free to use, with no advertisements or account requirement.
Absolutely. Your notes are saved locally on your device. Writing, searching and organizing notes do not require an internet connection. Downloading and setting up the app may require internet.
Yes. MINO has Windows x64 installer and portable downloads, plus a universal macOS DMG for Apple Silicon and Intel. The Mac build requires macOS 13.3 or later; Windows requires WebView2. Portable notes still live in your local user profile—it is not a self-contained USB vault. Check each package’s requirements and version before downloading.
In MINO’s local application-data folder on your device, not in an online account. Use password-protected backups when transferring private notes. Markdown, text and legacy JSON exports are readable. See Privacy for platform-specific encryption details.
